Background: PRODERER is one of the investment projects considered a priority under the Kagera Basin Development Plan, due to its transboundary importance, its location on the shared Kagera River watercourse, its expected impact on improving water availability, food security through increased agricultural production and energy security, as well as reducing environmental degradation and adapting to climate change.

Background: The development of the drinking water and sanitation (WATSAN) sub-sector in Niger is based on the Politique et stratégies pour l'eau et l'assainissement of 1999 and the Plan d'Action National de Gestion Intégrée des Ressources en Eau (PANGIRE) adopted in 2017.

Background: The proposed operation involves a grant of up to 265,391 Euros to the Togolese Republic from the African Water Facility (AWF) Special Fund for the implementation of the Project to update and validate environmental and social impact studies for 31 semi-urban centres in Togo (PAVEIES-31CSUT). The project is a major contribution to the implementation of the government's 2025 roadmap.

Project General Description: This project was identified in Niger during the implementation of the Partnership Programme between the African Water Facility (AWF), the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark (GoDk) in 5 Sahel countries (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger) and in the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Somalia) and under the African Development Fund operations in Niger/ADF-15.

Background: This intervention concerns the Climate-Change and Covid-19-Resilient Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Support Project in The Kayes Region and Kati Circle. It aims to contribute to the improvement of rural communities’ living conditions in Kayes Region and Kati Circle by facilitating access to climate-change and COVID-19 resilient drinking water supply, hygiene and sanitation.
