The African Water Facility has approved a €830,000 grant for feasibility study and detailed design of the Lusaka City Water Supply Improvement Project in Zambia. The project aims to increase access to safe, sustainable, and inclusive water supply and infrastructure in urban areas. It will also create opportunities for increased investment in the country’s water sector.

African governments are among the donors to the water fund, and also the primary beneficiaries of the AWF’s funding. Furthermore, African governments, through AMCOW, provide the chairmanship, and the four other members of the Governing Council of the African Water Facility.
